Ardell Gordon

Ardell Gordon (nee Smith), 97, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away at 05:25  AM, Saturday, March 11th, 2023, at York Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. 

“Ardell,” as family and friends affectionately knew her, was born in Mecklenburg County, Chase City, VA on August 8, 1925, the daughter of the late Maggie (Mosley)  and Earnest  Smith.
Ardell migrated to Washington D.C., and while a resident of the District of Columbia, began her training at Nursing School.
Then Ardell moved to Philadelphia to care for her aging father.
Ardell became  a resident of the Philip Murray House, (Philadelphia, Pa.)   July 3, 2012. 
She was a Deaconess and Missionary at Macedonia Baptist Church.

She was a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She worked at Girard Hospital until her retirement.
Ardell was a kind and soft-spoken woman. Ardell was loved by everyone she encountered.
She was preceded in death by her husband the late Julian Gordan and her grandson, the late  Anthony Parham.
Ardell is survived by her daughter,  Carrie Willard Parham. In addition, she leaves behind her grandchildren. Cordelia Willard and Cheryl Robinson and Nine (09) Great grands and (06)  Great-great grands and host relatives and friends.

On Saturday, April 15, 2023, there will be a  Memorial Service at 01:00 PM; the Celebration of Life will be held at the Philip Murray House, 6300 Old York Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19141 . Attendance is by Invitation ONLY
