Rudy Jandris

RUDOLPH "RUDY" JANDRIS
passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 26,2021. He was 89 years old. Rudy was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA.
Rudy is survived by his daughter, Arlene Love (nee Jandris) and Lawrence Love III, his son-in-law. He is further survived by 5 grandchildren, Sean Mackereth, Lawrence Love IV (Jaclyn), Timothy Mackereth, Christina Love, and Kevin Love (Jessica); 1 great-grandchild, Enzo Harrison Love. Rudy was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie Jandris (nee Campbell) and his daughter Maureen Mackereth (nee Jandris).
Rudy and Anne raised 2 daughters together. He was a veteran of the US Army. Rudy had a successful career with the Philadelphia Fire Department for 30 years. He served the community as a firefighter and paramedic. Anyone who ever met Rudy knew his true passion in life was aviation. He learned to fly at age 17. He was an accomplished pilot earning many certifications but he mostly enjoyed teaching others how to fly.
Rudy retired to Manahawkin, NJ making memories by the water with loved ones and his dearest friend and companion, Barbara Hopkins.
Relatives and friends are invited to Rudy's Life Celebrationon Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 9 AM to 10 AM at Saint Martha Church, 11301 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154. A service will follow at 10 AM. Interment will be private. Masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the charity of your choice in Rudy's name.
