Shirley Ann Bush (known as Shirl) was born to the late Ruth McNeeley Howard and the late Jessie Lee Howard.
Shirley was educated in the Philadelphia School system. She attended Morton McMichael Elementary and Sulzberger Junior High. She later received her GED through the Philadelphia School System Night Classes. Shirl continued her education as a Nursing Assistant and began working in the Philadelphia School System for over 20 years were she finally retired.
Shirley then met Gregory Harris in which Rodney Howard was born on September 17, 1968. Thereafter Shirley then met Sherman Bush in which they married and on March 8, 1970, Kecia C. Howard was born. She met James Bowie thereafter, and Stephanie Howard was born on September 19, 1972.
Shirley Ann Bush was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a very independent woman. She had a fancy spirit about herself all the time. She loved to party, and she liked to walk all the time. The way she walked would put a smile on your face when you saw her coming. Her favorite words when she see you was “Hey Babe.”
Shirley was a daughter, a mother, Sister, Aunt, Partner and so much more to so many people.
Shirley was preceded in death by Mother Ruth Howard, brother Charles Howard, sister Wilma Waller and granddaughter Lateefah Crisden.
She leaves to mourn: one son Rodney Howard and daughter-in-law Angel Howard; two daughters Stephanie Howard and Kecia Howard and one son-in-law Duane Gordon Sr., two sisters Annie Dawson and Angela McCormick and brother-in-law Joel McCormick; two sisters-in-law Clara Bush and Virginia Bush; grandchildren: Eric Crisden, Kiyon Grant, Karim Grant, Da’Wine Gordon, Kennedy Grant, Tyriq, Iesha, Kareema, Rasheeda, Donte and Shameeka as well as a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
